IBL Bank’s headquarters is Lebanon’s first kinetic facade. This challenging endeavor tasked us with engineering both the under structure of the facade and its motorized dynamic skin. We meticulously crafted a system comprising single triangular panels, each independently motorized to dynamically adjust to changing sun exposure levels.

The idea behind this project was to reimagine the building’s facade, introducing a transformative element of flexibility and adaptability. By integrating motorized louvers that function in unison, akin to scales opening and closing, these motorized elements not only enhance the facade’s visual appeal but also serve a critical purpose in providing dynamic shading. The coordinated movement of these motorized louvers allows for dynamic adjustments, ensuring optimal light exposure and shading as needed.
